Welcome to the Reformed Church
in the U.S. If you're worshipping with one of our local
congregations for the first time, it may be helpful to know a
little more about who we are, and what we believe. In terms of
faith and practice, we are:
Biblical
We hold the Bible to be the Inspired, Inerrant and Infallible
Word of the Living God, and its doctrine of salvation by grace
through faith in Christ the only perfect and true doctrine.
Reformed
While our ecclesiastical history traces its beginnings through
German Protestant immigrants in Colonial America, our doctrinal
standards are those of the Sixteenth Century Protestant
Reformation (hence the name "Reformed").
Trinitarian
With the believing Church of all generations, we worship Father,
Son and Holy Ghost, the One True God Who has revealed Himself in
Three Persons.
Confessional
We are ready to "give an answer for the hope that is within
us." While there is great liberty in the Reformed Church,
there is also unity in matters of essential doctrine. Our written
confessions of faith include the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic
Confession and the Canons of Dordt.
We take our confessional statements seriously, and seek to apply
sound biblical principles to the issues that confront our
families, churches, communities and nation. Preferring the firm
foundation of God's Word, the Reformed Church makes no apology
for its lack of trendiness, or "political correctness."
Because we are biblical and confessional, we apply our faith in
every area of life. For example, we believe the Bible:
* Teaches that man is
saved by grace, not works
* Supports the right-to-life of unborn children
* Expects fathers to exercise headship in the
home
* Teaches six-day creation
* Promotes Christian education
* Avoids man-centered worship
These are not marks of the "consumer church," but we
believe they are the marks of a faithful church.
If that is your heart's desire for your family, then we invite
you to join us.

Q. What is your only comfort in life and in death?
A. "That I, with body and soul, both in life and in death, am not my own, but belong to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who with His precious blood has fully satisfied for all my sins, and redeemed me from all the power of the Devil; and so preserves me, that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; yea, that all things must work together for my salvation. Wherefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready henceforth to live unto Him."
Heidelberg Catechism, 1563
